INICIATIVAS SUSTENTÁVEIS VOLTADAS À RESPONSABILIDADE SOCIAL E AO DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A BRASKEM

Abstract

As organizações empresariais têm assumido ações e iniciativas relacionadas ao desenvolvimento sustentável, na execução de suas atividades, mesmo que pela via de pressões da legislação e de normas governamentais ou do próprio mercado. Nesse sentido, o presente trabalho tem por tema investigar as ações de responsabilidade socioambiental, na região do ABC paulista, de uma empresa líder no setor petroquímico. Nesse âmbito, tem-se por problematização verificar como a Braskem conduz suas iniciativas relacionadas ao conceito de sustentabilidade e quais os reflexos dessas iniciativas na região do ABC paulista? Dessa forma, o objetivo deste trabalho é: analisar o enquadramento conceitual das iniciativas e práticas identificadas na Braskem, dentro do marco teórico da sustentabilidade e da responsabilidade social. Justifica-se a presente investigação em função da empresa estar entre as líderes mundiais na produção de biopolímeros. Estes são identificados como materiais poliméricos sendo classificados, em termos estruturais enquanto polissacarídeos, poliésteres ou poliamidas. A metodologia utilizada foi a descritiva, de caráter qualitativo, pois este procedimento metodológico torna possível observar e analisar os fatos relativos às iniciativas de responsabilidade social desenvolvidas pela empresa em estudo, sem manipulá-las, no estabelecimento de correlações acerca da percepção de outros stakeholders (sindicato dos químicos, representante comunitário, na figura de uma diretora de escola pública) diante das ações tratadas nesta pesquisa. Logo, os resultados obtidos indicam que as iniciativas de responsabilidade socioambiental adotadas pela empresa estudada vão ao encontro do que prediz o paradigma da Sustentabilidade e Responsabilidade Social, na promoção do desenvolvimento regional, onde se encontra instalada.

Business organizations have taken actions and initiatives related to sustainable development, in the execution of their activities, even by means of pressure from legislation and government regulations, or the market itself. In this sense, the present work is to investigate the issue of environmental responsibility actions , in the ABC Paulista region , a leading company in the petrochemical sector . In this context, it has been problematic to see how the leading company in the domestic petrochemical industry conducts its related to the concept of sustainability and what the consequences of these initiatives in the ABC Paulista region initiatives? Thus, the objective is to identify the consequences of these initiatives and practices with regard to regional development in areas where Braskem has significant performance, especially economic, social and environmental impacts . Justifies the present investigation due to the company being among the world leaders in the production of biopolymers. These are identified as polymeric materials are classified in structural terms as polysaccharides, polyesters or polyamides. The methodology used was descriptive, qualitative, because this methodological procedure makes it possible to observe and analyze the facts relating to social responsibility initiatives undertaken by the company under study, without manipulating them , in establishing correlations on perception of other stakeholders ( chemical union , community representative , the figure of a director of a public school ) before the actions addressed in this research. Therefore, the results obtained indicate that environmental responsibility initiatives taken by the company will meet the study predicts that the paradigm of Sustainability and Social Responsibility , the promotion of regional development , where it is installed .
